SAFE - SAFE FOOD ADVOCACY EUROPE

SAFE - Safe Food Advocacy Europe was the project coordinator of the Nutrimodule project. SAFE was created in 2015 out of a concern for public health related to food issues. One of the most influential factors of the EU’s food legislation is lobbying, therefore the large majority of EU legislation is influenced by lobbyists. There are more than 30.000 lobbyists in Brussels, 70% of them are working for businesses, only 10% work for NGOs. Thus, SAFE was created to ensure that consumers’ health and concerns remain at the core of the EU’s food legislation. SAFE is a Brussels-based NGO focusing only on the protection and representation of EU consumers in the food sector. SAFE monitors the EU’s food legislation process and cooperates with EU legislators and its actors to draft comprehensive food regulations.

EMOTIFOOD

EmotiFood Ltd was created to bring together nutrition and behavioural analysis for obesity, overweight, and diabetes prevention. The purposes are the management, on all the National territory, of centres specialised in food education, psychotherapy, family mediation, and diet with the promotion and organisation of training and courses for psychologists, MDs, and dieticians. Furthermore, EmotiFood organises courses, advanced classes, and specialisation courses focusing on those who work in the social sector and supports patients with eating disorders, difficulties with nutrition, feeding, swallowing, and chewing. EmotiFood is also involved in the management of prevention and information projects about nutrition, in schools, companies, with individuals, in groups, in the sports sector, with adults, adolescents, and young children.

UNIVERSITY OF LIEGE

liege universiteThe University of Liège (ULiège) is one of the three main and complete Universities of the French-speaking Community of Belgium. The Faculty of Medicine of the ULiège welcomes some 4500 students each year and offers them undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programs as well as numerous continued training and research programs. The Faculty of Medicine has sound expertise in the nutrition area, combining clinical nutrition and public health nutrition. The project benefited from the Master in Public Health and the Department is currently managing the organization of a new “Master in Nursing Sciences”. ULiège made sure that the module addressed two major aspects relating to nutrition: disease management (specifically in addressing the nutrition aspects of endocrine and metabolic diseases) but also disease prevention.

UNIVERSITY OF RZESZÓW

rzeszow universityThe University of Rzeszów came into being by the Act of Parliament of 7th June 2001. The University of Rzeszów was created through the merger of the Pedagogical University of Rzeszów, the Rzeszów branches of Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin, and Agricultural Academy (the Faculty of Economics) in Kraków. The university continues the policy of these Institutions, develops research projects and participates in various educational programmes that are important for the South-Eastern Poland. Due to its geographical position, the University realises its unique tasks in cooperation with foreign higher education institutions. It plays the role of an intellectual

and cultural bridge between Ukraine and European Union. It cooperates with 120 foreign institutions of higher education (with over 50 partner universities from Ukraine) and with over 200 universities within Erasmus+ programme.

SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY

sapienza universita di romaSapienza University of Rome offers a vast array of courses and is one of the few Italian public Universities always ranked in major international rankings, an active member of several international networks, and therefore it plays a fundamental role in the academic international scenario. During the last 10 years the activities of the "SOS" Sapienza Obesity Specialists were focused on the awareness concerning obesity and its related co-morbidities running several academic and public activities. Sapienza is involved in multidisciplinary workshops for students, in the organisation of the Italian Obesity Day, in the Diabesity taskforce, and in the short film festival Film Dipeso.

SONVE

sonve logoSONVE is a nonprofit and voluntary organisation which aims to inform about plant-based nutrition scientific  issues. SONVE stands for Società Scientifica di Nutrizione Vegetale (Scientific Society on Plant-Food Nutrition) and accepts only health professional memberships. It carries out activities in biomedical research fields as well as information and training for doctors, biologists, dietitians and other health professionals. SONVE also provides information and interviews to media (TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, Socials) and group scientists and people concerned with plant-food nutrition, in order to exchange and update knowledge on the studied subject, by a reappraisal of the scientific literature on it, and by means of tailored research project designs, which SONVE will support and/or carry on.
